Anyone can edit a PDF or copy a paper certificate in a few minutes. The fake looks the same as the real one.

Paper gets lost and emails get deleted. Then the holder asks for a copy, and your team searches old files.

The QR opens the verify page. It shows who issued the certificate, to whom, for what, on which date, and if it is still valid. The answer comes from our register, not from the paper.

Verified means

It does not mean

What data do you keep about a certificate holder?
ما البيانات التي تحفظونها عن صاحب الشهادة؟
Only four facts on the register: the name, the course, the date and the code. We keep no ID numbers, grades or photos. We use the phone number and email only to send the certificate; they never show on the verify page. The verify page shows the name in part only, such as M*** Al B***.
أربع معلومات فقط في السجل: الاسم والدورة والتاريخ والرمز. لا نحفظ أرقام الهوية أو الدرجات أو الصور. ونستخدم رقم الهاتف والبريد لإرسال الشهادة فقط، ولا يظهران على صفحة التحقق. وتعرض صفحة التحقق جزءا من الاسم فقط.
Who gives consent for the data?
من يأخذ الموافقة على البيانات؟
The issuer. The training centre, employer, event or school owns the certificate and its facts, and is the data controller. The issuer collects the holder's consent; we give you the consent wording to use. We process the data for the issuer and for no other use.
الجهة المصدرة. مركز التدريب أو جهة العمل أو الفعالية أو المدرسة تملك الشهادة وبياناتها، وهي المتحكم في البيانات. تأخذ الجهة المصدرة موافقة صاحب الشهادة، ونحن نعطيها نص الموافقة. ونعالج البيانات لصالح الجهة المصدرة فقط، ولا نستخدمها لأي غرض آخر.
Can a holder hide their verify page?
هل يستطيع صاحب الشهادة إخفاء صفحة التحقق؟
Yes. The holder asks us on WhatsApp or by email. We tell the issuer and hide the page. A scan then shows that the record exists but is not public.

How do you follow the Oman data protection law?
كيف تلتزمون بقانون حماية البيانات الشخصية في عُمان؟
According to the Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022, text on Qanoon.om), in force since 5 Feb 2026, the issuer is the controller and Thabit processes the data for it. We collect the minimum, use it only to issue, send and verify certificates, and a holder can ask to see, correct or hide the record. We do not sell data or use it for marketing.
نلتزم بقانون حماية البيانات الشخصية الصادر بالمرسوم السلطاني رقم 6/2022 ولائحته التنفيذية، النافذ منذ 5 فبراير 2026. نجمع أقل قدر من البيانات، ونستخدمها فقط لإصدار الشهادات وإرسالها والتحقق منها، ويحق لصاحب الشهادة أن يطلب الاطلاع على سجله أو تصحيحه أو إخفاءه. لا نبيع البيانات ولا نستخدمها للتسويق.
What does Verified mean?
ماذا تعني كلمة «موثقة»؟
Verified means three things: this issuer issued this certificate to this person, the record is on the Thabit register, and the issuer has not revoked it. It does not mean that Thabit checked the training, the exam or the person's skills. The issuer is responsible for those facts.
تعني ثلاثة أمور: أن هذه الجهة أصدرت هذه الشهادة لهذا الشخص، وأن السجل موجود في سجل ثابت، وأن الجهة لم تلغها. ولا تعني أن ثابت فحص التدريب أو الاختبار أو مهارات الشخص، فهذه مسؤولية الجهة المصدرة.
Is this a government attestation?
هل هذا تصديق حكومي؟
No. Thabit is not a government attestation, an equivalency or an accreditation. It proves that the issuer issued the certificate. If you need an official attestation, ask the ministry or the authority that gives it.
لا. ثابت ليس تصديقاً حكومياً ولا معادلة ولا اعتماداً، بل يثبت أن الجهة المصدرة أصدرت الشهادة. وإذا احتجت إلى تصديق رسمي فاطلبه من الوزارة أو الجهة المختصة.
What if a certificate has a mistake?
ماذا لو كان في الشهادة خطأ؟
Tell us on WhatsApp. We revoke the old certificate and re-issue a correct one with a new code. A scan of the old code shows that it was replaced.
أخبرنا على واتساب. نلغي الشهادة القديمة ونصدر شهادة صحيحة برمز جديد. وعند مسح الرمز القديم يظهر أنها استُبدلت.
Does the holder or the checker need an app?
هل يحتاج صاحب الشهادة أو من يتحقق منها إلى تطبيق؟
No. The holder gets a PDF and a link on WhatsApp and by email. A checker scans the QR with a phone camera, or types the code on thabit.bhd.om.

Can we also get printed certificates?

Yes. Add print to any package. The BHD print floor in Muscat prints the same certificate, with the same QR, at the BHD price book.
